Amy Tangerine Mini Album Workshop

I got my scrap on this past weekend at the Amy Tangerine Workshop at Ben Franklin Crafts. It was awesome to play with such bright and happy supplies, and people! I haven't had a chance to use bright and cheery since I focus mostly on vintage/shabby chic.

The mini-album was adorable, using new products from her new Yes, Please collection at American Crafts. The cover was a special corrugated paper, which I bought in the other colors as well. She showed us some embroidery techniques as well as some watercolor techniques. I was bummed that the store sold out of the stitching templates. I will have to do them freehand until I find them.

It was great meeting Amy Tan a second time. She is a really down-to-Earth person, and has such a cute baby bump! Congrats to her again!

This class has renewed my spirit of scrapbooking, encouraging me to work with my photos again. Now if I had more hours in the day, I could do everything, everyday!

I did finish my album, after a couple of late nights. I left a couple of blank pages in the back for new pictures of Hawaii.  I know we will have plenty to add!

Here is the cover of my album.  It is a lot like Amy's, but I added a palm tree and the True Story tag. I keep staring at it, in love with every piece!

Here are the pages that I created in my album. I love the paint splatter one, with the embroidery (which is hard to see in this photo). I keep flipping through it, admiring the products, and of course, my photos! I had to include some fave pics of the kids around Hawaii. Even my hubby is show on the last page, saluting at the USS Arizona Memorial.

So, it was a great Saturday.  Thanks to everyone for making it that way! Especially my scrap buddies, Van (from Like the Car) and Nicole! Thanks for this picture Van!

Hope everyone has a happy scrappy day!

Jess

  1. Looks great!! I really need to sit down and finish mine! I ended up ordering the stitching templates online. I bought the last alpha one in the store that night of class. They said they might be getting them back in on Friday.
